George Freer War Time Photos

This is a bunch of photos that Marg’s father George, had saved from his days during the war, mainly taken in Madagascar, some in Madras and maybe some in Bengal. He was stationed at the far east for the duration of the war, 1939 until 1945 and then was too ill to return to Britain immediately and so spent time convalescing in Madras until 1946 when he was finally able to return. U understood he was a Gunner in an Artillary regiment, doing signal work, I am not sure. There are no titles on the photos, a couple of names that I have shown and I am not sure of all the locations. Following the photos are a group of letters that he sent home in 1943 from Madagascar I think where he was training at the time. Maybe someone in the Freer family may find these interesting, as they are part of my late wife’s family heritage.
